All Eyes On MRC Street Stocks/Spectator Races Friday At Black Rock

DUNDEE, NY – For Immediate Release – August 28th, 2015 – Curtis Berleue photo –

With just two point races remaining, the closest point battle to settle lies with the Morseman Racing Chassis Street Stock division.  What was a 25 point lead going into last Friday’s feature has now shrunk to just 8 points for Dundee, NY’s Jared Hill.

Hill has been a model for consistency for the most part, although his Creekside Racing team has struggled with tires in 2015.  At times, Hill has carried a 20-30 point lead over the rest of his competition.  But what must concern Hill the most is the late-season charge being put on by CJ Guererri.

The Geneva, NY pilot finally nailed down their first Black Rock Street Stock win last Friday night after dominating the 20-lap feature event.  A sea of red t-shirts in Champion Power Equipment Victory Lane joined Guererri.  The win was big- just two weeks prior the No. CJ1 sat third in points with nearly all hope lost for the 2015 championship.

A great night for Guererri would see an even worse night for Hill as the power plant on the No. 93 expired early in the event.  Creekside Racing teammate Tracy Dunn, who has been on the sidelines since the end of July, has loaned Hill the power plant out of the No. 21 to try and close out the championship.

Both of these drivers are searching for their first Black Rock Speedway track championship in the Street Stock division.  Two point shows remain and you can’t even count out Nate Daggett or Chuck Winslow in this four-horse race.  The point champion in the MRC Street Stocks will not only win the title and top prize in the point fund, they will also take home a 2016 MRC Chassis courtesy of the division sponsor.

Will Guererri draw even closer or take over the point lead on Friday night?  Will Hill stop the bleeding and take a comfortable lead into Championship Night Friday September 4th?  Or will Daggett or Winslow toss a hail mary to get back in the chase for the title?

It’s going to be a fun battle to watch play out on the ‘Fast Four-Tenths-Mile’ on Friday night.

The return of Spectator Races will also amp up the action on Friday night with a car division and Truck/Van/SUV division competing for spectator supremacy.  The ‘knock out’ style format will see the car and truck/van/suv winners face off for the overall title and bragging rights until 2016.

There is no entry fee for the Spectator Races however all racers must purchase a pit pass.  All cars entered must be street legal, registered and inspected to compete in the race.  Drivers will be required to wear seatbelts and a full-face helmet.  S&W Awards will be putting together a fantastic trophy for the overall winner to take home and display on their mantle.

The incredible point battle and Spectator Races will only add to an exciting weekly racing program consisting of Modifieds, Crate Sportsman, M&M Auto Sales IMCA Modifieds, MRC Street Stocks, NAPA Know How 4 Cylinders and Creekside Entertainment Bandits.

General admission for Friday’s show is just $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, $10 for ages 12-17 with children under 12 always being free of charge at Black Rock Speedway.  Pit gates swing open at 4PM, grandstands open at 5PM with the green flag waving for the first time at 7PM sharp.
