Black Rock Speedway Prepares For Motorsports Expo 2015

DUNDEE, NY – March 11th, 2015 – For Immediate Release

Black Rock Speedway is well under way in preparing for the 2015 Motorsports Expo in Syracuse, NY taking place this weekend at the New York State Fairgrounds.  Race tracks, race cars and race fans from all over New York, Canada and Pennsylvania will converge on the Center of Progress Building for the annual kickoff to the Northeast racing season.

Black Rock Speedway will have a booth at this year’s Motorsports Expo and will also have several cars on display near their booth.  Co-Promoters Mike Jackson and Sue Foster will be on hand to meet and greet race fans and drivers as they prepare for the first season at the helm of the Dundee, NY 4/10 mile oval.  They will have some beautiful schedule cards ready to hand out courtesy of Three Hamsters, Inc.

The crew from local dirt motorsports show ‘Turn 5 Live’ will be set up in the Black Rock Speedway booth Saturday recording interviews for their March 17th episode.  Any driver is encouraged to stop by and participate in this unique episode to be aired on the Performance Motorsports Network.

Herrington Motorsports will have their Dirt Modified prominently on display at the Expo and will help Black Rock Speedway ring in a new year with the Small Block/Big Block Modifieds on the weekly card.  Drivers and fans alike have long awaited the return of the Modifieds as well as a weekly racing schedule.  Black Rock Speedway will see 26 race events fill up the 2015 schedule from late April through late October.

The Backyard Motorsports contingent will also be on display as they have for the last several years at the Motorsports Expo.  Having their cars ready for the Expo is now a yearly tradition for the BYM gang who say that being ready for the Expo gives them a deadline to meet to have their cars prepared.

Rich Sharpsteen (Flyin’ X) and Jeremy Trank (15K) will have their NAPA Know How 4 Cylinder entries on display this weekend as both drivers will make the switch from Street Stocks to 4 Cylinders in 2015.  Both say that the move is one that will allow the team to get back to their roots and have fun racing again.  They will be a weekly fixture at “The Rock” along with guest appearances at the Woodhull Raceway and other facilities racing 4 Cylinder Stocks.

Sharpsteen returns to the Black Rock Speedway 4 Cylinder ranks where he has had dominant seasons including 43 Feature wins and 1 track championship to his credit.  The Flyin’ X also boasts 3 track championships in a 4 Cylinder at the Paradise Speedway in Geneva, NY.

Trank has had his own success at Black Rock Speedway over the years.  He was named Rookie of the Year in the 4 Cylinders in 2012, was crowned track champion of the Front Wheel Drive division in 2013 and is the defending Rookie of the Year for the Street Stocks in 2014.  Trank has 3 feature wins and 4 heat wins at Black Rock to pair up with 1 feature win and 1 heat win on the highbanks of the Woodhull Raceway.

Come out to the New York State Fairgrounds this weekend for Motorsports Expo 2015, meet some of your favorite dirt drivers, grab your 2015 Black Rock Speedway schedule and get fired up for the 2015 season at “The Rock”!
