Local Sponsors Join Black Rock Speedway For 2015 Season
DUNDEE, NY – March 5th, 2015 – For Immediate Release
Mike Jackson and Sue Foster made a commitment to the racers and fans of the Dundee, NY oval when they set out to promote Black Rock Speedway in 2015. A commitment to return the speedway back to prominence, and recently several local businesses made a commitment of their own to help the speedway succeed. Two weekly divisions have been sponsored for the full season and several businesses have come onboard as nightly sponsors.
NAPA is a trusted name that is prominently seen throughout the racing community but 2015 will see four NAPA stores operated by Jamie Hitchcock sponsor Black Rock’s 4 Cylinder division. The ‘NAPA Know How 4 Cylinders’ will be comprised of both rear-wheel and front-wheel drive 4 Cylinder stock cars, as has been the case for the last few seasons.
If the rear-wheel drives or front-wheel drives in the NAPA Know How 4 Cylinders can field 15 cars on their own, the class will be split into two divisions. Regardless of a combined or split format, all 4 Cylinders will race under the banner of NAPA Auto Parts.
The four NAPA Auto Parts stores sponsoring the 4 Cylinders are Watkins Glen Auto Parts, Trumansburg Auto Parts, Ovid Auto Parts and Candor Auto Parts. Racers and fans are encouraged to shop locally with these four NAPA Auto Parts stores and mention Black Rock Speedway with their purchases to say thank you!
Not only will the NAPA Know How 4 Cylinders be sponsored, the Black Rock Bandits youth 4 Cylinders will also carry a title sponsor. Local DJ, Photo Booth and Uplighting company Creekside Entertainment has signed on to sponsor the Black Rock Bandits for 2015.
Operated by the father-son duo of Stewart and Steven Ovens, Creekside Entertainment has a great presence in the local motorsports scene. Creekside Entertainment will add the Bandits to their racing sponsorship resume that include local full-fender competitors Dylan Cecce, Jared Hill and Marc Minutolo. They are also present as a weekly sponsor of local dirt track racing show ‘Turn 5 Live’ on the Performance Motorsports Network.
There has been 2 Black Rock Bandit graduates, one track championship and a handful of runner-up points finishes to come out of the Ovens family which made sponsorship of this division a perfect fit for the family owned and operated business.
Along with division sponsors, several nightly sponsors have been recently announced as well. Superior Crushing, LLC and Tyler Siri have signed on as the Opening Night sponsor on Friday April 24th. Free Admission night has been scheduled for Friday May 8th with free admission granted to those who make a donation of a non-perishable item to be donated to a local food pantry.
Local power equipment supplier and large supporter of dirt track racing in the Finger Lakes, Super Gen Products/Champion Power Equipment will sponsor the first stop of the 2015 season for the Patriot Sprint Tour.
The Rumble At The Rock will be presented by S.P. Wilson, Inc on Tuesday June 2nd. This event’s name was suggested by Logan Kenyon who won a speedway Facebook contest to name the first Modified special of the season. Logan will join the speedway as a special guest for this event, be provided a tour of the pit area and have photos taken with the Rumble winner.
Insinger Performance will be the nightly sponsor for both Tuesday night SUNY Canton Grit Racing Series events to be held on June 16th and August 4th.
Longtime motorsports supporter Douglas B. Miles Agency, Inc will sponsor the inaugural Jeff Searles Memorial Race Night on Friday June 19th.
Dgien Trucking, who has been instrumental in the snow removal efforts at the speedway in recent weeks, will sponsor the racing action on Friday July 10th.
Local lumber and hardware store Knapp & Schlappi Lumber Co, with locations in Penn Yan and Dundee, will sponsor the action on Friday July 24th.
Friday July 31st will be Officials Race Night, which will see a regular card except for the IMCA Modifieds.
M&W Aluminum and A-Verdi Storage Containers will present the racing action on Friday August 7th when the Patriot Sprint Tour returns for their 2nd stop of 2015.

Black Rock Speedway is located at 82 Main St in Dundee, NY and holds dirt track racing weekly on Friday nights from late April through Labor Day Weekend in September. The speedway also hosts special events on the grounds with special races run during the fall months of September and October.
