OUTLAW SPEEDWAY UPCOMING JUNE 14, SUPER 5 SHOW
Story by Kenny Shupp Jr.
(Dundee, NY)
After a pair of extremely aggressive months in April and May, Outlaw Speedway owner/promoter, Tyler Siri will continue to back things down a bit in June with a series of Regular Super 5 Shows including the Friday, June 14, 2024, event.
“We hit it hard in April and May with special events almost every night,” stated Siri. The weather was not our friend on several occasions, but we did get numerous big shows into the books. The schedule will now revert to primarily Super 5 Shows for most of June which still gives all our weekly drivers a chance to compete and our fans the opportunity to cheer on their favorite drivers.”
With a perfectly smooth racing surface awaiting competitors, Outlaw Speedway has become one of the region’s most talked about facilities with a wide and racy surface coupled with just five classes of action making for a timely show.
“We have a good handle on the surface and the drivers and crews know just exactly what they are going to get every race night. Smooth, wide and fast, top to bottom! It has eliminated countless unnecessary caution flags which means better racing. Guys are not crashing thus saving enormous amounts of money and it is a better overall show for the fans and we have been getting great crowds because the racing is better, and the show is done in a timely manner.”
In addition, Outlaw Speedway is now using a mandatory 44/48 minimum American Racer Tire hardness which is not only making it easier on the racing surface but also saving Modified and Sportsman teams money not burning up softer rubber.
“During the off-season I made some wholesale changes which have done nothing but make the weekly program better. I cut out two divisions of competition so now we just run a Super 5 Show along with the Youth Bandits. Couple that with the Modified and Sportsman tire rule along with how we prep the racing surface, and we have a good system.” That once again according to ninth year Outlaw Speedway owner. Tyler Siri.
When the Kubota High Limit 410 Sprint Car Series visited Outlaw just a few weeks ago as part of the Thursday Night Thunder show, every driver in the pit area raved about the place, many of which had never been to Dundee, NY previously.
The 410 Sprint feature which was won by High Limit co-owner, Brad Sweet was run off caution free in just a tick over eight minutes on a smooth and fast 4/10 of a mile oval. The High Limit Series cannot wait to return in 2025.
On the Regular Super 5 Card for June 14, it will be the Friendly Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Modifieds, the Sunrise Insulation/Knapp and Schlappi Lumber Sportsman, the Swarthout Recycling Street Stocks as well as the NAPA Hobby Stocks and the Winner’s Circle Deli Mini Stocks.
