ANNUAL HOAG MEMORIAL TO CLOSE OUT 2024 SEASON AT OUTLAW SPEEDWAY

(Dundee, NY) Since purchasing the Outlaw Speedway nine years ago, track owner/promoter, Tyler Siri will wrap up the season the same way he always has with the Annual Hoag Memorial at the facility.

Named in memory of the legendary, Donald Dutch Hoag of Bath, NY, the traditional year ending event took on a new name last season after the passing of former Black Rock Speedway (now known at Outlaw Speedway) owner Dean Hoag lost his battle with cancer.

“I purchased this facility from Dean and when I did, I wanted to keep the Hoag name alive at the track for years to some.  Dutch was a huge fan favorite and one of the best drivers to ever come out of this region, so I decided to end the year with the Dutch Hoag Memorial.  When Dean passed away in 2023, I made the change to The Hoag Memorial which includes both Dutch and Dean.  They both had great careers, and Dutch was a huge supporter of his son when he ran this place for a decade.”  That is according to Tyler Siri.

Tradition will continue again with the Annual Hoag Memorial with Outlaw Speedway hosting a two-day event on Friday, October 18 and Saturday, October 19, 2024.  

Friday night will feature the return of the Empire Super Sprints as the powerful 360-winged machines will race for a winner’s check of $4,000.

Friday Dash Events will also be held for the Friendly Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Modifieds, Sunrise Insulation/Knapp and Schlappi Lumber 602 Crate Sportsman as well as the Swarthout Recycling Street Stocks.

Rounding out the opening -night card, it will be the Winner’s Circle Deli 4 Cylinder Mini Stocks racing for $1077.77.

Then on Saturday, October 19, 2024, Outlaw will swing the gates for day two of the Hoag Memorial featuring qualifying heats and consolation events to set the feature events for the $7777.77 to win, $777.77 to start 50 lap Modified feature event.

The Sportsman will race for a winner’s check of $5077.77 with each driver qualifying receiving a minimum of $577.77 to start.

The Street Stocks will run their customary Hoag Memorial 100 lap grind paying $2777.77 to win and $277.77 just to take the green for the century long affair.

Hobby Stocks and Mini Stocks will run feature events paying $1777.77 to win each.      

A who’s who list of some of the top Modified Drivers in the northeast have won previous Hoag Memorial Modified feature events including the likes of The Hurricane Steve Paine, AJ Slideways Alan Johnson, Erick Rudolph, Matt  Sheppard, Ron Cartwright Jr., track owner Bossman Tyler Siri as well as Mike Maresca to name a Camping is free all weekend for the Hoag Memorial and a designated map of the Outlaw Speedway Camping Area will be posted on Facebook as well.

Two watering holes are located at the facility and will be open all weekend.

The Turn 4 Tavern awaits thirsty fans in the grandstand seating area along with the Outlaw Speedway Saloon which is in the pit area with the Saloon offering a panoramic view of the Fast 4/10 of a mile clay oval from its roof top observation deck.

Food and beverage concessions will also be open all weekend in both the Grandstand Seating Area as well as the Pit’s. 

Continuing to celebrate 67 years of great dirt track racing action, the Outlaw Speedway is located on Rt 14a in Dundee, NY, right in the heart of the Finger Lakes Region of Upstate, New York.
