SHORT TRACK SUPER SERIES TO INVADE OUTLAW SPEEDWAY ON TUESDAY, MAY 18, 2021
Story by Kenny Shupp JR.
(Dundee, NY) The highly acclaimed Short Track Super Series touring group will make its way to the Outlaw Speedway for a mid-week show on May 18.
Many of the Northeast’s top Modified drivers will converge on Outlaw to see who can tame the fast 4/10 of a mile and walk away with the top price of $5,000 and numerous other contingency awards that are up for grabs.
Dubbed, “The Outlaw Showdown 50”, over $25,000 in purse money will be doled out including $1,000 for tenth place and $400 just to take the green flag.
STSS owner/promoter, Brett Deyo along with his wife, Heather will bring their first- class operation to Outlaw where the last event was won by Stewart Friesen in 2019. The 2020 event had to be cancelled due to the many NYS Governor and Health Department regulations that prohibited fans from attending the show.
“Like so many other special events that we had scheduled last season the STSS had to be scrubbed due to the pandemic, claimed Outlaw Speedway owner/promoter, Tyler Siri. The STSS is a high-profile event paying big money not just to the winner, but it also provides serious money and contingencies to everyone that starts the event.”
Local favorites like three-time Outlaw Speedway Track Champion, Super Matt Sheppard, AJ Slideways, Alan Johnson, The Hurricane, Steve Paine, The Doctor, Danny Johnson and Boss Man, Tyler Siri are all heavy favorites to upend Friesen in his quest to make it two in a row at the famed Yates County NY Speedway. Other weekly runners at Outlaw that will be looking for a big upset include Brady Fultz, Cory Costa, Jim LaRock and Nick Nye. Young guns Dillon Groover and Jeff Daugherty will also try and make their way into victory lane.
Invaders like former Outlaw Speedway runner, Mike Mahaney, Wild Child Andy Bachetti, Duane Howard, Billy Pauch Jr., Mike Gular, Anthony Perrigo, Tyler Dipple and The Ringo’s Rocket, Ryan Godown will all converge on Outlaw to see who will walk away with the $5,000 top prize.
Also on the card will be a $1,500 to win Open Tire 602 Crate Sportsman feature as well as the $1,000 to win Stan’s No Tubes Street Stock main event. The NAPA Hobby Stocks and the Winner’s Circle Deli Mini Stocks will round out the full night of racing with the winner of each feature taking home $750.
It will also be Autograph Night at the track where fans will get an opportunity to get up close and personal with their favorite drivers.
All gate times for both pit and grandstand entry along with ticket prices will be posted prior to the event and can be found at www.facebook.com/OutlawSpeedwayLLC/. Pre-event Driver Registrations forms are also available online.
