SUMMER NATIONALS AT OUTLAW SPEEDWAY FOR 2020 ARE CANCELLED

Revamped schedule now shows a Regular Super 7 Show on Friday, July 24, 2020

Story by Kenny Shupp Jr., Public Relations Director.

(Dundee, NY) In an announcement by track owner, Tyler Siri the 2020 Summer Nationals at the Outlaw Speedway have been cancelled.

The tentatively scheduled Friday night, July 24 event with a built in July 25 rain date will now give way to a Regular Super 7 Show on Friday night, July 24, 2020.

“The New York State regulations have not changed one bit over the past several weeks and we still can not have spectators in the grandstand seating area. We need butts in the bleachers if we are going to stage any of these high profile events and it’s just not happening, so we have no other choice but to reevaluate the Summer Nationals and just go with a Regular Super 7 Show featuring all of our weekly classes and make it a one night affair.”

The 5th Annual Outlaw Speedway Summer Nationals was to consist of two high powered classes in the Friendly Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Modifieds along with the Patriot Sprint Tour.  In addition, several support classes were included on the card all running for added purse structures.

With Governor Cuomo and the New York State Department of Health’s stringent regulations, mass gatherings are still not allowed thus the necessary schedule adjustment.

“We hate having to continually cancel all these big shows.  Thus far in 2020 we have had to nix virtually everything outside of weekly events featuring our regular classes of competition.  We had high hopes that the state would have started relaxing many of these regulations by now seeing how the number of Covid 19 cases are on a steady decline within our region.  Unfortunately, that has not been the case.  We will continue to play by the state’s guidelines and not allow fans into the stands.”

The Friday, July 24, 2020 event will feature the Friendly Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Modifieds complemented by a pair of 602 Crate Sportsman Divisions in the Sunrise Insulation American Racer Tire class along with the Hoosier Tire division.  Also, on the card it will be the Stan’s No Tubes Street Stocks along with the IMCA Modifieds and the IMCA Hobby Stock’s.  The mighty 4 Cylinder Division rounds out the Super 7 event.  Also seeing action will be the feature only Winners Circle Deli Bandits youth class.

Pit gates open at 5:30 pm with hot laps at 6:30. The first green flag of the night waves at 7:30 pm.

For those not wishing to gain entry thru the pit area the event will be televised live in its entirety on Dirt Track Digest.TV.  Go to their web site for details and pricing.  www.dirttrackdigest.com.

As the event draws closer added information will be posted on the tracks Facebook account at www.Facebook.com/OutlawSpeedwayLLC/.
