Bryce Davis Racing For A Cure In ISKY Cams Championship
…2009 Race Winner Hoping To Repeat…
Dundee, NY When the BRP CanAm Series rolls into Black Rock Speedway on Saturday October 23 for the ISKY Cams Championship Bryce Davis will be racing for a cure with his race car trimmed in pink as part of breast cancer awareness month.
Davis, a 19 year old race car driver from Canisteo, NY, was inspired to join in the race for a cure while watching the NFL on television and decided to do his part. Davis shared, “It just seemed like a good thing to do and it certainly will be different. My mom and I put together a plan and went to work to make this happen. Within about six hours had commitments from a bunch of people to make this all come together. Joel (Smith) at Close Racing Supply has agreed to fabricate a new body for the car. It sort of needed one anyway. Heath (Cousins at Cousins Racing Graphix) is going to create a wrap with pink ribbons and some pink trim which will make it obvious to everyone what we are doing. The car will be on display at the Canisteo (NY) American Legion where for a donation to the Hornell (NY) Chapter of the Susan G. Koman foundation you can sign the hood of the car. The car signing will generate some money for finding a cure. I will donate half of whatever I win at Black Rock. We really want to help make a difference. This isn’t anything like the NFL, but ever little bit should help the cause”.
After the initial commitments were in place Jim Monastra, president of Wrisco Industries of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida agreed to provide the Wrisco Racing Aluminum necessary to fabricate the new body for Davis’ Hot Rod Lincoln. Wrisco is a long time marketing partner of the BRP CanAm Late Model Series. Learn about them at www.Wrisco.com.
Davis is the defending champion of the ISKY Cams championship race. That was his first ever Series tour event win. In July he scored his second Series tour event win at Little Valley Speedway. His plan is to end the 2010 Series with another win and move up a spot or two in the point standings. He currently stands ninth in the standings. Complete point standings are posted at www.BRPCanAmSeries.com
Black Rock gates will open early on the 23rd with practice and time trials before the 1:00PM race start time. In addition to the BRP CanAm late models, the World 100 for street stocks, and micro sprints are on the agenda. Black Rock Speedway information at www.BlackRockSpeedway.com
