Feb 7, 2010 01:15 PM EDT coming to Black Rock Speedway

SELINSGROVE, PA – For the first time ever, The Dirt Track ( will broadcast from Black Rock Speedway in
Dundee, N.Y., on July 2 as our Nation begins its Independence Holiday weekend.

The track is presenting an "IRL Meet & Greet" along with the BRP late models, Black Rock/Canandaigua sportsman modified challenge and the 600 micro sprints.

Shawn Wood and Area Auto Racing News columnist Steve Kellogg will call the action. The broadcast time will be announced closer to the date.

“Steve has wanted me to come to Black Rock Speedway for sometime and it was just a matter of finding the right date to do so,” Shawn Wood, President of The Dirt Track Channel said. “With our sister site, Open Wheel ( covering the IndyCar Series weekend at Watkins Glen, it was a perfect fit to do the webcast on July 2. I want to thank Dean Hoag for allowing us the opportunity to broadcast from the track that night.”

With maintaining two websites, the overall season webcast schedule is getting out a bit later this year.

“This if the first full year we’ve had two websites, so the schedule is a bit slow in getting out to the fans,” Wood said. “I can assure them, we are working on getting the best races possible. Our weekly shows of This Week in Modified Country™ and Inside Track™ will be back on the air in the very near future.

Fans will want to check both websites later this week for a potential announcement of additional webcast dates.

Shawn Wood Productions is the home to The Dirt Track Channel and Open Wheel Today websites that primarily cover open-wheel racing from around the world. Each site offers live streaming and on-demand audio webcast free of charge and registration.
