Hoselton Auto Mall Returns as Sportsman Sponsor in 2008
After a successful first season with GM Crate-powered sportsman cars in weekly competition on Friday Nights, Hoselton Auto Mall was excited to partner up once again with the Black Rock Speedway to be the title sponsor of the division once again in 2008.
Hoselton Auto Mall, of Rochester, NY, partnered with the Black Rock Speedway for the bold initiative in 2007 to forge into uncharted waters and run a strictly-crate division. Thirty-five competitors ran in the inaugural season, with Brady Fultz ending the season as Champion. If Fultz repeats in 08, he will have a brand-new crate motor coming his way at the banquet.
Hoselton will be rewarding the 2008 DIRTcar Sportsman Champion with a power plant, an incentive that is sure to intensify the title chase. Add to it the fact that this year’s chase IS a chase, and it is likely that the championship and the recipient of the engine will come down to the final points race of the season on August 30.
“Black Rock’s partnership with Hoselton Auto Mall is certainly great for everyone involved,” noted BRS GM Alex Hoag. “For them to step up with a brand new crate motor just shows how dedicated Hoselton and Black Rock are to this division.”
The 50th Anniversary Season of dirt-flinging action will kick off in just one month with the highly anticipated $5,000-to-win Twin 50’s for the Sportsman and Street Stock divisions. Racing will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 5.
