For Immediate Release – April 13th, 2016

(DUNDEE, N.Y.) – Racers and fans looking to get their first taste of on-track action for the 2016 racing season has a great opportunity to do just that on Friday night in Dundee.

Outlaw Speedway will hold an open practice session on Friday night starting at 7PM, although practice may start just before 7 as the anticipation will be boiling over to start the new season.  The practice session is open to any race car competing on any tire.

The grandstands will be open to the public free of charge, while a pit pass to see the cars up close and personal will be $20.  There is no registration fee to practice, but all persons enter the pit area must pay admission for a pit pass.

While the surface hasn’t changed in configuration, new clay has been added to the speedway, which will get its first test on Friday night.  Meanwhile, the wholesale changes made to the physical property will be on display.

Fans in attendance will get to see what changes have taken place, and will be able to compare to even more changes scheduled to take place between practice night and opening night on April 22nd.

Outlaw Speedway will now feature the Friendly Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep and Ford Modifieds, Crate Sportsman, Crate Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Creekside Entertainment Street Stocks, 4 Cylinders and Winner's Circle Deli Bandits.  The opening Outlaw Spring Nationals on Friday April 22nd will be historic as the Modifieds will race for $3,000-to-win in leg number one of three for the Insinger Performance/Sunoco Race Fuels Outlaw Challenge.

If the Modified winner that night can also win the Outlaw Fall Nationals and Dutch Hoag National Open, they will take home an eye-popping $25,000.  The Friendly Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep and Ford Modifieds will also race for $2,000-to-win on a weekly basis and receive a minimum of $200 for taking the green flag.  The track champion of the division will receive a $5,000 championship for their efforts.

In a Facebook fan poll, “The Doctor” Danny Johnson is the leading vote getter with 26% of the votes.  Meanwhile, 8-time and defending track champion “The Hurricane” Steve Paine has 23% of the votes.

Joining the Modifieds during the Outlaw Spring Nationals will be the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints, led by 6-time and defending tour champion Steve Poirier.  The first full points race for the ESS 360's will take place on this night with the tour racing for $2,000-to-win, $250 to take the green and the dash being sponsored by longtime supporter Lane's Yamaha out of Watkins Glen, NY.

There is a fan poll posted in the Opening Night event on Outlaw Speedway’s Facebook page asking fans for their ESS picks for the April 22nd winner.  As of Wednesday morning, “The Juice” Jared Zimbardi is neck-and-neck with “The Cobra” Chuck Hebing.  Zimbardi carries 38% of the votes while Hebing carries 34% of the votes.

In fact, Dundee, NY resident 'Mr. ESS' Malcolm Lane holds the all-time record for ESS wins at the facility known over the years as Dundee Raceway, Black Rock Speedway, Yates County Speedway and now Outlaw Speedway in 2016.  With other tour regulars Jason Barney, Sammy Reakes IV, Paul Kinney, Matt Tanner and Chuck Hebing hungry for their first wins of 2016, this show will be a cannot miss!

The Super Gen Products Grit Series will also be on tap for a thrilling 602 Crate Sportsman event that falls on their 2016 American Racer Tour schedule.  Casey Pavlick looks to defend his recent Grit wins at Outlaw Speedway as well as his second-straight track championship in 2015.
