Monster Trucks Make Massive Return to Black Rock This Weekend

Air-Flying Car-Crushing Ground-Pounders Invade Dundee Friday and Saturday

Rich Vleck, DUNDEE, NY, (July 9, 2013)- After a myriad of Friday Nights off, the Black Rock Speedway turned the lights back on last Friday Night to stunning results.  Not willing to slow down, the track will surely get a workout this weekend.

The Monster Trucks return for two nights of pure carnage this Friday and Saturday Night.  The legend Black Stallion driven by Mike Vaters leads a fleet of destroyers.  Higher Education, the school bus on steroids, is back as well, along with the return of Iron Warrior.  To add to the excitement, Vaters is bringing back his jet-powered Kamekazi ATV for both nights.

While the monster trucks are sure to devastate the infield of the Black Rock Speedway, the 4/10-mile oval will have many of the familiar cars and stars of stock car competition in action on Friday Night.  Six weekly divisions will be running for full points with the late models taking the weekend off.

Off a hard-fought win last Friday Night, Donnie Lawson now commands a 34-point advantage in the sportsman standings.  Lawson is a three-time track champion but was runner-up in the standings last year and is looking to hit his stride once again.

Jeremy Potzrebowski won his first race at BRS this season on Friday Night in the street stock feature and in doing so took over the point lead from Dylan Cecce and Rich Sharpsteen II, who were 2nd and 3rd, respectively.  Those three are setting up for one wild run to the championship.

It was Chris Fleming scoring the win in the IMCA Modified division last Friday, but it was the heartbreak for Phil Yaw that was the big story.  Yaw was one restart away from his first IMCA-sanctioned win but slipped to third.  All is not lost for Yaw though as he is just 10 points back of Jake Maynard for the point lead with local favorite Rich Karlnoski in second.

All three 4-cylinder divisions will be in action as always.  James Kreidler III is dominating the Signs Plus of Kanona RWD 4-Cylinders, while Jeremy Trank holds a commanding lead in the FWD 4-Cylinder standings.  Allison Teed scored the win in the bandit class last weekend and holds a steady point lead in the youth division.

On Saturday Night, the circle track action will be gone, but in its place will be a highly-anticipated straight-line race.  Along with all of the monster trucks and the jet-powered ATV will be a spectator monster truck drag race.  Spectators can enter to participate in this event and will be selected based on the amount of applause from the crowd.  In order to win this though you will need a hefty entourage, so come prepared!

Saturday Night’s show would not be complete without some crazy human stunts.  Crash Moreau is back for his Stunt Thrill Show, something that certainly does not want to be missed.  It should be mentioned that on Saturday Night, outside food and drinks will not be permitted.

Racing action gets underway at 6:45 P.M. on Friday with the show starting up at 7:00 P.M. on Saturday.  Gates will open at 5:00 P.M. each night, with children ages 16 and under will be admitted free on Friday Night with a paid adult.  For more information, visit
